Image
Written by Shamsi Saadati Paris, France  – On Saturday, May 17, 2025, an influential international conference convened in Paris, uniting parliamentarians and prominent political figures from a wide array of countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The central theme of the gathering was the urgent need for a new, decisive international policy towards Iran, with a strong emphasis on supporting democratic change and recognizing the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a viable alternative to the current regime. The event served as a significant platform for global lawmakers to voice their concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran, the regime’s escalating domestic repression, its destabilizing regional activities, and its persistent pursuit of a nuclear program. A recurring call throughout the conference was for Western governments to adopt a firmer stance, including the ...

Iran’s Diplomat-Terrorist Assadollah Assadi’s Claim of Having Diplomatic Immunity in False

Image
By Mohammad Sadat Khansari For [Assadollah Assadi] to claim protection or diplomatic protection in Belgium, this is a false claim and, in my view, should be rejected by the courts out of hand,” said Tahar Boumedra, former official in the United Nations, during an interview with Simay-e Azadi, an Iranian opposition satellite TV channel on Thursday. Simay-e Azadi  interviewed Mr. Boumedra simultaneous with the second session of the trial of Iran’s jailed diplomat-terrorist,  Assadollah Assadi , and his three accomplices in Antwerp, Belgium. Assadi and his accomplices were arrested while attempting to bomb the  Iranian opposition’s rally  in Paris on June 30, 2018. Since his arrest, Assadi has been trying to use ‘diplomatic cover’ and its immunity to influence the court and evade justice. Based on Belgium’s 2002 legislation, even if Assadi had diplomatic immunity, Belgian authorities could have arrested him, the prosecutor of Antwerp said during the first se...

Iran’s Regime Expresses Fear of Upcoming Trial of “Diplomat-Terrorist” Assadollah Assadi

Image
By Shahriar kia The mullahs’ regime expressed fear as the trial date of its incarcerated diplomat-terrorist,  Assadollah  Assadi, in Belgium approaches.  “In my meeting with Belgium’s Ambassador, I underlined that the MEK [opposition Mujahedin-e Khalq] intends to tarnish our relationship with Belgium and Europe. This case is important and urgent for Iran,” Peyman Sadat, the Director-General of Europe in Iran’s Foreign Ministry, told the official ISNA news agency on Wednesday.   Sadat, who is an official of the world’s top executioner per capita and the worst human rights violating state, complained about the “human rights” of Assadi being ignored.   “Assadollah Assadi was arrested in a highly inhumane manner. His case was one of my tasks in Brussels. My deputy and I went to see him every week, but after each visit, he was subjected to physical examination. Thus, these visits s...

Desire to work with Gulf states a must for US election winner

Image
By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh To say that the first US presidential debate, which was dominated by personal attacks, failed to offer clear visions of each candidate’s policy platforms is something of an understatement. With two further debates scheduled, there is still a considerable amount the electorate is yet to hear on Donald Trump and Joe Biden’s visions for the future. This is especially the case on foreign policy and their respective approaches to the Middle East, where America’s actions over the next presidential term will have reverberations for decades to come. We know that President Trump has adopted a radically different approach from those that came before him. Delivering the Abraham Accords and exerting maximum pressure on Iran are his two standout Middle East achievements. In the case of the former, it is clear that he has gone a considerable distance toward mending the fractious relationship his predecessor Barack Obama had with the Gulf states. However, it was the flawe...
