Tehran in Meltdown as Israel Decapitates Hamas and Hezbollah

Image
By Struan Stevenson Conflagration engulfs the Middle East, with the Israel-Hamas war having gone on for more than a year now, and many Israeli hostages are still being held in deplorable conditions by Hamas terrorists. In Northern Israel, constant missile and rocket attacks by Hezbollah led to the mass evacuation of more than 70,000 Israelis from their homes in 2024 and to the inevitable military retaliation by the Israel Defense Forces, as they crossed the border into Southern Lebanon. Israeli missiles are raining down on key Hezbollah targets in Beirut. The assassination of Hezbollah’s terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, a seismic event, shattered his close friend and ally Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader and Hezbollah’s main sponsor. Nasrallah’s successor, Hashem Saffieddine, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut within hours of being nominated for the Hezbollah leadership role and before the funeral of his predecessor had even taken place. Iranian Threat Against US General Is Latest Sign of Regime’s Desperation, Vulnerability

Image
By Mohammad Sadat Khansari It was recently reported that the US National Security Agency intercepted communications in January, which exposed emerging terrorist plots from the Iranian regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The  IRGC  was reportedly planning to orchestrate an assault on a Washington, DC military base in an effort to kill General Joseph M. Martin, the vice chief of staff for the US Army. The plot was one of many examples of the Iranian regime’s apparent commitment to obtaining revenge for the January 2020 killing of  Qassem Soleimani , the commander of the IRGC’s terrorist  Quds Force . Tehran previously claimed to have successfully retaliated for that drone strike when, less than two weeks later, the Iranian military launched its first ballistic missile strike that targeted Western forces. More than a dozen missiles struck one Iraqi military base where American servicemen were stationed, and Iranian state media initially attempted to claim ...

Iran using Yemen’s Houthis to achieve its sinister goals

Image
By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh Not only is the Iranian regime showing no sign of backing down from its destabilizing behavior in Yemen and its support for the Houthi militia group, it is actually escalating the conflict through its proxy. One prominent example is how the Houthis have ratcheted up their attacks on Saudi Arabia. Even US officials have acknowledged the escalation, with a senior defense official telling NBC News: “We’re certainly aware of a troubling increase in Houthi cross-border attacks from a variety of systems, including cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).” The US, along with France, Germany, Italy and the UK, also last week condemned the “major escalation of attacks the Houthis have conducted and claimed against Saudi Arabia.” More than 40 drones and missiles were launched at Saudi Arabia by the Houthis in February alone. The sophisticated weapons the militia group is using have most likely come from the Iranian regime. Based on a UN...

Belgian Foreign Minister: "Conviction of Iranian diplomat and case of Djalali are separate"

Image
Author:Shahin Gobadi Iran, March 4, 2021— For Belgium, the conviction of the Iranian diplomat  Assadollah Assadi  by a criminal court in Antwerp and the death sentence pronounced by the Iranian regime against the Iranian-Swedish doctor Ahmadreza Djalali are separate issues, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sophie Wilmès said at a  parliamentary committee hearing on Foreign Affairs  on Tuesday, March 2.   Assadi and three other terrorists and agents of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry ( MOIS ) were convicted last month for plotting to bomb the annual event of the National Council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ) in Paris in 2018. Assadi, their leader, has been sentenced to  20 years imprisonment.   After the conviction of Assadi, concerns rose about the fate of Djalali, a lecturer at the Brussels Free University, who has been taken hostage by the Iranian regime during a visit to Iran. The regime linked both files and threatened to execute Djalali late l...

European Leaders Cannot Remain Silent About Iran’s Recent Terrorist Exploits

Image
By Alejo Vidal Quadras It has now been several days since a high-ranking  Iranian diplomat  was convicted of plotting to carry out a major terrorist attack on European soil. One would think that this would be a major source of public commentary in Western policy circles and that this commentary would already be setting the stage for a coordinated political response to the underlying phenomena. Instead, the response from European leaders has been muted at best, raising concerns among critics of the Iranian regime about whether those leaders plan to sweep this entire incident under the rug. Unfortunately, it isn’t difficult to imagine why certain Western policymakers would be in favor of that outcome. Serious public comment on the recent conviction would undermine longstanding preferences for ordinary diplomatic dialogue and conciliatory relations with the Iranian regime. Such policies keep the door open for commerce and the purchase of Iranian oil, and they shun...

Tehran’s state terror has reached Europe – is the West ready to confront it?

Image
By Bob Blackman MP Last week a Belgian federal court gave its verdict on the prosecution of a high-ranking Iranian diplomat, Assadollah Assadi for terrorism. Assadi was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The question now is what an appropriate response is for Western governments on both sides of the Atlantic? Assadi, the former third counsellor at the Iranian embassy in Vienna, stood trial alongside three accomplices in connection with their plan to set off explosives at a 2018 gathering of Iranian expatriates and diplomatic supporters, organised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Two of those accomplices were arrested by Belgian authorities while attempting to carry several hundred grams of the high-explosive TATP to the intended target venue. The third was detained after having already gained entrance to that venue just outside of Paris. Assadi himself was arrested in Germany before he was able to return to his Austrian post and the protection of diplomati...

Iranian regime uses guise of diplomacy in terror plot

Image
By Struan Stevenson Feb. 8 (UPI) -- When a Middle Eastern country orders one of its diplomats to bomb an opposition rally in Europe, prepares the lethal device, sends him to the European Union on a commercial airliner with the bomb in a diplomatic bag, what should the West do? This is not some sort of Hollywood fantasy, it is reality. A court in Belgium has  just sentenced  four Iranians who were involved in a plot to kill and maim hundreds at a mass rally of the National Council of Resistance of Iran attended by tens of thousands at Villepinte near Paris in June 2018. There were dozens of Americans and Europeans at the rally, including well-known politicians like  Newt Gingrich , former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives; Theresa Villiers MP, former United Kingdom Cabinet minister; and  Stephen Harper , former prime minister of Canada. I was there and indeed was a plaintiff at the trial in Antwerp on Thursday, sending recorded evid...

Terrorist’s Guilty Verdict Creates Opportunities for Broader Pressure on Iranian Regime

Image
By Shamsi Saadati In a  statement  posted to Twitter, the Iranian Resistance’s president-elect, Mrs.  Maryam Rajavi  welcomed news of a guilty verdict in a Belgian court case of Iran’s diplomat-terrorist by saying, “Conviction of the regime’s terrorist diplomat… represents the conviction of the entire clerical regime.” The verdict in question was for the former third counsellor at the Iranian regime’s embassy in Vienna,  Assadollah Assadi , and it served to confirm that he was the mastermind of a 2018 terrorist bomb plot targeting Resistance activists on Western soil. Assadi’s casefile established that he had personally smuggled explosives into Europe while traveling on a diplomatic passport and then met with two co-conspirators in order to provide them with the weapon and accompany instructions. Those would-be bombers, Nasimeh Naami and Amir Saadouni, were captured while attempting to carry the bomb from Belgium to the target venue, a conventio...
