International Dignitaries Rally for a New Iran Policy, Support NCRI as Democratic Alternative

Image
Written by Shamsi Saadati Paris, France  – On Saturday, May 17, 2025, an influential international conference convened in Paris, uniting parliamentarians and prominent political figures from a wide array of countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The central theme of the gathering was the urgent need for a new, decisive international policy towards Iran, with a strong emphasis on supporting democratic change and recognizing the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a viable alternative to the current regime. The event served as a significant platform for global lawmakers to voice their concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran, the regime’s escalating domestic repression, its destabilizing regional activities, and its persistent pursuit of a nuclear program. A recurring call throughout the conference was for Western governments to adopt a firmer stance, including the ...

Iran fires '15 nuke-capable' ballistic missiles after signing nuclear deal

Image
By NICOLE STINSON IRAN has fired at least 23 ballistic missiles – 15 of which are said to be nuke-capable – since signing the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, a leaked report has claimed. The report’s leak comes after Donald Trump has repeatedly branded the Iran nuclear deal, signed under his predecessor Barack Obama, a “very bad deal”. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also know as the Iran nuclear deal, is an agreement by Tehran to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium – an ingredient used to make nuclear weapons. In October last year, President Trump warned he was close to tearing up the deal adding Iran was violating the “spirit” of the deal. At the time the US President said: “We’ll see what phase two is. It might be a total termination. That’s a very real possibility. “I’m tired of being taken advantage of as a nation.” GETTY Iran has fired at least 23 ballistic missiles – 15 of which are said to be nuke-capable Now a report by the Foundati...

Iran spends billions on weapons programs, terrorism while ignoring Iranians' basic needs, report finds

Image
By Ben Evansky | Fox News Iran is spending billions of dollars on its weapons programs and supporting terrorism around the globe while it ignores the basic needs of its people, a new report asserts. The report, issued by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), states that this month’s uprising against the regime was due to what it states are the “grueling high prices and economic strains on an array of social sectors.” It claims that this is a result of the regime putting its resources, “toward domestic suppression, warmongering and expansion of terrorism abroad,” which the report points out has led to poverty and deprivation among Iranians. The report is titled “Primary Causes of Poverty and Popular Uprisings in Iran.” It says the report is based on a “high-level assessment” which revealed that the annual minimum cost to Iranians of keeping the “clerical regime in power” is about $55 billion. The national council says on its website it is a “br...

Too many Europeans are determined to appease Iran at all costs

Image
by Tom Rogan      Washington Examiner, Jan 26, 2018  - For a start, Geranmayeh does not simply condemn the Trump administration's efforts to strengthen the Iran nuclear deal, she portrays those efforts as immoral and deserving of European retaliation. Geranmayeh's contention is that should the Trump administration fail to agree with European governments on how to improve the deal, the E.U. should be prepared to sanction U.S. interests. She explains, 'Put simply, EU officials must tell Trump: If you fine our companies’ assets in the United States, we will reclaim those costs by penalizing U.S. assets in Europe. This would cause a major trade conflict that the Europeans want to avoid by all means. But the option and the precedent exist.' Hilarious. While I admire Geranmayeh's sense of confidence in the E.U. project, the idea that the Europeans could win a trade-blacklist war with the United States is totally laughable. Losing access to U.S. markets would intr...

NCRI Staff NCRI - While pundits were surprised by the recent protests that erupted in Iran at the end of 2017, and into early 2018, unrest has been simmering in Iran for quite a while. Playing an important role in organizing the protests and breaking through government censorship to keep the world informed about them, was the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), who comprise the principal opposition movement against the regime. The protests are said to have broken out in more than 140 localities. Chants such as, “Down with Rouhani”, and “down with Khamenei”, as well as “no to hardliners; no to reformers; this game is over” rang out. The Iranian people sent a clear message about what they want — regime change, and they want it now. Reports says that at least 20 protesters were killed by security forces and the Revolutionary Guard. According to the MEK, at least 8,000 defenseless protesters were arrested, but officials of the regime acknowledge 3,700. Some...

Iran's uprising is organized and heading for a specific objective

Image
Shahriar Kia "Riyadh Daily"   The senior board of Iran's so-called Assembly of Experts recently expressed grave concerns regarding the consequences of Iran's latest uprising. In this session assembly chief, Ahmad Jannati and spokesman Ahmad Khatami referred to three important crises facing the regime in regards to these protests. 1. The legitimacy of the people's demands 2. The impasse Iran's regime is facing in continuing its crackdown campaign 3. Failure and inability to control the internet The truth is this uprising is an unexpected earthquake, and of course with a clear objective launched by the Iranian people against the entirety of the mullahs' regime. Their obvious goal is the all-out overthrowing of this regime. Mehdi Abrishamchi, Chairman of the Peace Commission in the Iranian opposition coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), provided some understanding in this regard in a recent interview with the INT...

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) JANUARY 26, 2018  - The United States will seek to boost its case for  United Nations  action against Iran when Security Council envoys visit Washington on Monday to view pieces of weapons that U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley says Tehran gave to Yemen’s Houthi group.   Haley and her 14 council colleagues will also lunch with President Donald Trump, the U.S. Mission to the United Nations said Friday. The Trump administration has for months been lobbying for Iran to be held accountable at the United Nations, while at the same time threatening to quit a 2015 deal among world powers to curb Iran’s nuclear program if “disastrous flaws” are not fixed. The U.N. ambassadors will visit a military hangar at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling near Washington, where Haley, the U.S envoy to the United Nations, last month presented remnants of what the Pentagon said was an Iranian-made ballistic missile fired from Yemen on Nov. 4 at Saudi Arabia’s cap...
