International Dignitaries Rally for a New Iran Policy, Support NCRI as Democratic Alternative

Image
Written by Shamsi Saadati Paris, France  – On Saturday, May 17, 2025, an influential international conference convened in Paris, uniting parliamentarians and prominent political figures from a wide array of countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The central theme of the gathering was the urgent need for a new, decisive international policy towards Iran, with a strong emphasis on supporting democratic change and recognizing the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a viable alternative to the current regime. The event served as a significant platform for global lawmakers to voice their concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran, the regime’s escalating domestic repression, its destabilizing regional activities, and its persistent pursuit of a nuclear program. A recurring call throughout the conference was for Western governments to adopt a firmer stance, including the ...

Feuds Over FATF, Iran Regime’s Impasse

Image
By Mahmoud Hakamian Despite the Iranian regime’s parliament’s stagnant progress in joining the  Financial Action Task Force (FATF)  or the acceptance of certain protocols against money laundering and terrorism funding, controversies are continuing outside, between the regime’s political parties. Ahmad Alamolhoda, the spokesman of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as well as the Friday Prayer Imam of Mashhad, made a threatening statement directed at the members of the parliament: “warning to those of you at the Islamic Consultative Assembly; your approval of the anti-money-laundering bill of a foreign convention, i.e., the FATF, will make you a traitor, because it will enable the enemies to take full control over our country’s transactions”. So far, thousands of threatening text messages have been sent to the members of the parliament. According to parliamentarians, these messages have been sent from the agents of Alamololhoda and Ebrahim Raisi (i.e., the regime’s...

What do Iranian dissidents seek?

Image
Analysis by PMOI/MEK June 23, 2018 - We’re just a week away from the annual Iranian opposition convention in Paris. In this rally, a large segment of the Iranian people, either living in exile or those who have amazingly been able to escape the Iranian regime’s siege and reach countries abroad, will be gathering to inform the world once again about the very tumultuous situation in Iran. Why the Iranian dissidents’ rally? Following the U.S. elections and Donald Trump becoming President after tracing his line in the sand from day one of his campaign, the Iranian people poured into the streets in December 2017 and launched a wave of nationwide protests. The city of Mashhad in northeast Iran witnessed locals begin massive demonstrations, protesting difficult living conditions. The fire of these rallies quickly spread to over 140 cities across the country. The slogans heard, first focusing on skyrocketing prices and unprecedented poverty, quickly evolved into protesting the Iranian...

A Viable Democratic Alternative to the Iranian Regime

Image
By Ken Blackwell One could easily argue that Iran’s ruling theocracy is facing the greatest internal threat to its rule since the 1980s. In the beginning of this year, the country was rocked by a mass uprising. The chain of protests was a major step forward for the domestic Resistance movement in the sense that it extracted political activism from farmers and the rural poor, despite the fact that these groups had long been thought to tolerate or even support the clerical regime. The December-to-January uprising was comprised of protests in upwards of 140 cities and towns spanning the entire country. And this diversity has remained on display in the ensuing months, as activist networks and entire populations continue to organize more localized demonstrations, in keeping with the call-to-action issued in March by   Maryam Rajavi , the president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) , a coalition headed by the principle Iranian Resistance group, the ...

Who is the alternative to Iran’s regime?

Image
Author: shahriarkia The Iranian Diaspora is planning to hold its annual convention on June 30th in Paris Analysis by PMOI/MEK June 22, 2018  – Following the ongoing Dec/Jan protests aimed at bringing freedom for Iran’s suffering people, there are two vital issues at hand: Overthrowing the mullahs’ dictatorship The alternative to this regime The more we trek forward, the question of who is this regime’s alternative becomes all the more imperative. In such sensitive circumstances it is quite natural to see many parties claiming to be the alternative to Tehran’s mullahs. It is also natural that all groups and individuals, associated or non-associated to a third party, those willing to sacrifice and opportunists seeking to jump at the opportunity, are surfacing and claiming to be patriotic in nature and opposing the ruling apparatus. This resembles the end of winter and the arrival spring, bringing about the birth of plants. Alongside flowers, however,...

What Morocco’s Break with Iran Means

Image
By Irina Tsukerman EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:   Iran’s recent moves against Morocco’s national sovereignty reflect its intention to continue on its path towards global domination by destabilizing pro-Western countries. Tehran is shifting its attention towards Africa, which is less on the Western radar following the American withdrawal from the JCPOA. Morocco’s decision to sever relations with Iran a week before President Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the JCPOA may not have been a complete coincidence. Iran’s presence in North Africa has been increasing over time and grew yet more pronounced as the deadline approached for the expected American withdrawal from the JCPOA. Iran, which is concerned about the future of its interests – global influence, access to natural resources, recruitment of new proxies, the training of existing proxies, and the relocation of illegal conventional and nuclear weapons research – has shifted its attention towards areas that have unt...
