Iran, November 11, 2020—The Iranian Resistance held a massive online conference in Ashraf 3 on November 10, connecting to various places around the globe and in Iran, marking the first anniversary of Iran’s nationwide November 2019 uprising that swept to over 190 cities throughout the country. Ashraf 3 is home to members of the Iranian opposition movement the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Albania.
Speakers and representatives of Iranian communities from around the world joined the conference on the internet and hailed the 1,500 martyrs of major protests in 2019, pledging to continue the struggle for a free and democratic Iran.
Simultaneously, the MEK’s network inside Iran, known as the Iranian Resistance Units, organized a widespread campaign across the country in memory of the martyrs.
A member of the MEK Resistance Units installs anti-regime slogans in Tehran reading, ““In memory of the 1500 martyrs of the great uprising of the Iranian people,” and “This is an uprising until victory and freedom.”
In various cities, Resistance Units members installed images and posters of the 1,500 martyrs on walls and dispersed handwritten slogans, handouts with slogans quoting Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi.
MEK-linked Resistance Units installed posters and images of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi in the cities of Tehran and Mashhad.
The footage of the Resistance Units’ activities was shown during the conference. They organized these activities in major cities of Iran, such as Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Kashan, City of Quds, Behbahan, and Mahabad, despite an intensified atmosphere of repression across the country.

“We can and must overthrow the dictator”
“Down with the dictator, the November uprising continues”
“The blood of 1500 martyrs has redoubled the determination for revolt and uprising”
“In memory of the 1500 martyrs of the great uprising of the Iranian people”
“Martyrs of the November 2019 uprising; Down with Khamenei, hail to freedom”
“This is an uprising until victory and freedom”
“The path of martyrs of freedom continues”
“November 15 is a national and lasting day in Iran’s history”
“Revolt, uprising, freedom with MEK Resistance Units”
MEK’s major role in leading protests
Many regime officials have acknowledged that MEK Resistance Units played a major role in organizing and leading the November 2019 uprising, which has a unique place in the history of the Iranian people's struggle against the inhuman and medieval tyranny of the mullahs. The 2019 uprising and protests that followed throughout 2020 showed that the mullahs' regime has no base in Iran’s society. These ongoing protests echo the Iranian people’s desire to overthrow the regime and establish freedom and democracy.
Even though regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei sought to use the coronavirus outbreak as a tool to spread despair throughout Iran’s society and maintain his regime, the continuous protests across 2020 showed that the overthrowing of the regime is just a matter of time.
The regime is constantly facing an restive society, witnessed in the measures of protests targeting the mullahs’ suppressive centers throughout Iran.
In recent days, rebellious and defiant youths targeted two Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) Basij bases in the cities of Tehran and Bandar Abbas, including the office of Mohammad Mehdi Hosseini Hamedani, Khamenei’s representative in Karaj on Saturday, November 7.
During the November 2019 protests, Hamedani had literally praised the IRGC for suppressing and killing the protesters. The Basij are the most hated suppressive paramilitary force inside Iran and a subsidiary of the terrorist designated IRGC. Its main role is to preserve the mullahs’ rule through repressive measures against protests and demonstrations. The Basij played a deadly role in quelling the November 2019 protests and are part of the regime’s new plan to increase repressive measures during the uprising anniversary.

In other places across the Iranian capital of Tehran, brave and rebellious youths torched a regime center used to spread the mullahs’ fundamentalist ideology. Other targets included a site used to economically cheat the locals, and the so-called Khomeini Relief Foundation used to spy on people and enforcing the mullahs’ outdated teachings and funding its terrorist proxy groups in the region.
Also, brave youths targeted the regime’s judiciary branch in the city of Marvdasht in the south-central province of Fars. In recent weeks following the execution of Navid Afkari and more death sentences issued for other political prisoners, Iranian youth have been targeting the regime’s suppressive centers and judiciary offices in various cities.
