When Students Rise, Tyrants Tremble

Image
By Struan Stevenson Throughout modern history, student uprisings have served as one of the clearest indicators that a regime has entered its final and most dangerous phase. Young people possess a unique capacity to sense political decay long before many others. They see through propaganda, reject hollow promises, and refuse to accept a future stolen by corruption, repression, and incompetence. When students pour onto the streets in large numbers, authoritarian rulers have every reason to fear the consequences. The latest wave of protests sweeping Tehran, Mashhad, and Hamedan should therefore ring alarm bells throughout Iran’s ruling establishment. Thousands of students have risen in defiance of discriminatory educational policies, arbitrary changes to university entrance regulations, and mounting pressures imposed by a regime increasingly detached from the realities facing ordinary citizens. Their demands concern far more than examinations and academic records. These demonstrations r...

Protests and conflicts in Balochistan, the impasse of Iran’s regime

By Reza Hoseani

After the injury of four youths by the police forces by being run over by a car, people gathered in front of the hospital and the condition of the injured was reported to be critical.

Following the popular protests, the repressive forces of the Mullahs’ regime started oppressing the people and shooting at them.

Since the youth use motorcycles to write slogans against the regime and burn government banners at night, the repressive forces apply undeclared martial law during the night and consider every motorcycle rider as an enemy and treat them with violence. Or they shoot at them.

This also indicates that they are very afraid of protesting young people and they do not want their actions to lead to mass protests again, which will threaten their existence.

Protests and clashes in Balochistan indicate the deadlock of the regime in suppressing popular uprisings.

The fact is that Iran is living in a very critical political, economic, and social situation.

Politically, the regime continues its religious dictatorship and does not have the ability to give freedom to the people, and is facing increasing protests.

In terms of international relations, it is stuck due to the impasse in the resolution of the nuclear deal and the continuation of developments and interventionist dreams in the region.

Economically, the regime of the mullahs is not able to solve the problems of the people, the skyrocketing prices, extreme inflation, unemployment, poverty, and corruption are driving the society towards destruction.

This is also the product of mismanagement and astronomical thieves of the authorities and spending the country’s budget on repression and terrorism.

In terms of internal disputes and conflicts at the top of power and their escalation between different factions, it is in a chaotic state.

In such a situation, Khamenei sees no other way than repression to keep himself in power
Of course, due to the successive nationwide uprisings in Iran, which weakened his regime several times, he is trying to carry out the repression in a way that does not lead to wider protests and uprisings.

But this is simply not possible and this indicates the impasse of the regime whose life has come to an end.
Because Iranian society is in an explosive situation.
Khamenei is sitting on a barrel of gunpowder and with the smallest mistake and stupidity on the part of his regime, a small spark may cause this gunpowder barrel to explode.

These protests started one day with the increase in the price of eggs, one day with the increase in gasoline prices, and one day with the violence against an innocent Iranian girl by the repressive forces of the regime, the protests spread all over Iran.

Tomorrow, it is not known how these protests will flare up again.

The activities of defiant youth and resistance units have kept alive the flame of uprising and protest, and this promises a ground for starting another phase of stronger protests, which will be very different from the past and will be decisive, and the officials and analysts of the regime are also in this. The context always warns.

Yes, religious fascism has reached the end of the line and no obstacle will be able to withstand the flood of social founders.
