Countering Iran’s Threat, Strategies for Regional Stability

Image
Written by Mahmoud Hakamian Two-minute read On Sunday morning, April 14, the Iranian regime launched an unprecedented attack against Israel, escalating tensions in the Middle East. Despite military experts’ assessments that the attack failed, it underscores  Iran’s role as a focal point  of regional conflict. The October 7th attack sent shockwaves globally. Despite ample evidence implicating the Iranian regime, Western governments dismissed Tehran’s involvement, adhering to a flawed appeasement policy toward the primary state sponsor of terrorism. They disregarded explicit statements from Revolutionary Guards  (IRGC) commanders boasting  about their direct role in the attack. For decades, the Iranian Resistance has urged the international community to adopt a resolute stance against the Iranian regime’s aggression and terrorism. Despite persistent calls, the failed appeasement policy of the West allowed Tehran to escalate its belligerent activities, including financing, arming, train

Time running out for Iran's nuclear deal

Image
By Struan Stevenson  Sept. 29 (UPI) -- With only days to go before U.S. President Donald Trump must decide if he will grant the Iranian regime compliance with the nuclear deal on Oct. 15, the sands of time are rapidly running out for Tehran's rulers. Trump told a meeting of the United Nations in September that the deal was "an embarrassment" to the United States. If Trump refuses to certify Iran's compliance with the deal, which seems highly likely, Congress will have 60 days to decide whether to reapply the crippling sanctions lifted by former President Barack Obama after the deal was signed. There is increasing speculation that the Iranian regime is financing North Korea's nuclear program, despite worldwide condemnation and the imposition of heavy sanctions against Kim Jong Un's rogue state even by China. A former U.S. senior diplomat has said that when Iran wants nuclear weapons it simply has to write a check and hand it to the North Koreans.

Putting Iran’s ‘violence, bloodshed and chaos’ in the spotlight

Image
By David Amess During his first address to the UN General Assembly in September, President Donald Trump offered a perspective on the people and the regime of Iran that starkly differed from that of his predecessors. He accurately attested that “The entire world understands that the good people of Iran want to change.” He described the Iran nuclear deal as “an embarrassment,” called off the Iranian regime for its export of “violence, bloodshed, and chaos,” and underlined that “Iran’s people are what their leaders fear most.”   These remarks from the president of the United States are a positive signal after three decades of failed appeasement toward the mullahs ruling Iran. And the testament to the fact are the reactions of Iranian officials, which betray their fear and consternation. In a meeting with the Assembly of Experts, Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Iranian regime called Trump’s speech “foolish, extremely ugly and hideous” and “gangster and cowboy languag

Is the Argument for Regime Change in Iran Well Founded?

Iran Regime's Financing North Korea's Nuclear Program Is a High Conjecture

NCRI - Struan Stevenson President of the European Iraqi Freedom Association in the following article which was  published by UPI on September 29, 2017 examines Iran regime’s meddling in the internal affairs of the neighboring countries and export of terrorism, the following is the full text of this article. Time running out for Iran's nuclear deal Sept. 29 (UPI) – With only days to go before U.S. President Donald Trump must decide if he will grant the Iranian regime compliance with the nuclear deal on Oct. 15, the sands of time are rapidly running out for Tehran's rulers. Iran: Labor Protests and Strikes Gain Momentum as Workers Worry About Their Livelihoods

Image
Iran Focus London, 30 Sep - In Iran, labor protests and strikes have increased across the country. Workers are demonstrating against layoffs and nonpayment of wages. Iran’s economy seems not to have recovered, even after economic sanctions were lifted after the signing of the 2015 nuclear deal. The Iranian peoples’ living conditions do not appear to have improved. Iranian state is said to have attempted to halt protests by arresting workers and sentencing them to prison. Still, the increase in the number of labor protests in the past few months suggests that the Iranian labor movement is going to give more workers a voice to dissent.

IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL MUST BE EXPANDED TO ADDRESS ISSUES PREVIOUSLY NEGLECTED

By Poorang Novak In 2015, the Iran nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed and implementation began. However, many broader challenges posed by Iran were overlooked when the deal was negotiated. Many people say the cons of the Iran nuclear deal overshadow the pros. Tehran continues to advance its ballistic missile arsenal, meddle in the Middle East, and escalate domestic human rights violations, as these issues were not addressed under the nuclear accord. Now these matters must be addressed and alterations are necessary. Many believe that the best approach may be compromising with Tehran to expand the scope of the Nuclear Deal. Still, the easily overlooked fact is that Iran continues to launch missiles and engage in wars on numerous frontiers. After the Taliban lost in Afghanistan, Tehran reportedly began its meddling objectives, such as fueling unrest in this country and recruiting Shiite fighters for the war in Syria.

Defence Expert: Trump Should Decertify Iran Regime's Nuclear Deal Compliance

Image
NCRI - Donald Trump is reportedly gathering any reason he can to decertify Iran’s compliance with the nuclear deal come October and one defence expert has voiced his support for Trump’s plans. Peter Brookes, a Heritage Foundation senior fellow and a former deputy assistant secretary of defense, wrote an op-ed for the  Boston Herald  in which he assessed that the 2015 nuclear deal (formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) was a “ticking time bomb” that “could explode [at] any time”. On October 15, the White House will have to verify to Congress that the Iranian Regime is in compliance with the nuclear deal. This will be hard to do given the recent  admission  from the International Atomic Energy Agency that they can’t verify Iran’s full compliance and Trump’s extremely vocal opposition to the deal, having called it an “embarrassment” and the “worst deal ever” at the United Nations General Assembly last week. Brookes wrote: “Trump also said he’d made up his

Iran: The Tragedy of Suicide Among University Students

Image
NCRI - In recent years, there has been an increase in suicide rate among Iranian university students. They usually commit suicide from a bridge or roof or with poisons, pills, and sometimes self-immolation. The question is why they kill themselves and who bears the blame? A state-run newspaper reflected this social crisis and examined the causes quoting a sociologist, "The inefficient administration, disappointment about the future, the imbalance between incomes and expenditures, depression, and unemployment are the main causes of suicide among Iranian students." The state-run Azad News Agency (ANA) published a report on September 27 about the crisis titeled: graduation and the tragedy of suicide. In an interview with the so-called sociologist, Nemat Ahmadi, ANA News writes, "Since the 80s, the governments have not been able to create jobs for youths and post graduate university students. Therefore, the unemployment and frustration about the future are raging amon

Iran's Role Is Syria Needs to Be Addressed

Image
Iran Focus London, 29 Sep - Officials from the Trump administration have been saying for a long time that Iran is a huge issue when it comes to its Syria policy. They have said that it is essential that Iran is stopped from expanding its power, especially as the Islamic State falls. Syrians agree with this, as do other nations such as Israel and Jordan. However, questions are now being asked about whether it is too late to act on any intentions. On Monday, Trump’s national security adviser H.R. McMaster spoke at the Institute for the Study of War and it became quite clear that the policy and the rhetoric were not exactly working together.

Iran's People And The Nuclear Deal

Advocates and opponents are going the limits to present their case prior to the October 15 th  deadline when US President Donald Trump is due to determine the status of Iran’s compliance with the accord. While this is a very important discussion, what unfortunately goes neglected is the status of the Iranian people who should be the first beneficiaries of such an accord that led to many sanctions being lifted from the Iranian regime.
