Before all else, I want to ask what have you done to have prompted the mullahs are screaming against the Iranian Resistance? What has happened can be summarized as such: Amid the Iranian people’s pain and suffering, the overthrow of the regime has appeared on the horizon and the mullahs are trembling. A pact with the devil You are certainly aware of the latest developments. Following legal complaints by the  NCRI  and several international dignitaries, Brussel’s Court of Appeals prohibited the government of Belgium from sending the Iranian regime’s bomb-carrying diplomat-terrorist to Iran, predicating it on a substantive examination. To do so was what we had wanted: to have time so that there would not be a surprise transfer...

Growing Threats From Tehran Require Firm Policy Towards Iran’s Regime

Image
Written by   Aladdin Touran The international community is facing an increasingly long list of crises involving the Iranian regime. Meanwhile, an organized Iranian opposition movement is offering clear recommendations on how to resolve those crises, with  support from a politically  and geographically diverse array of supporters from all around the world. Western leaders and multinational institutions may choose to listen closely to those recommendations or to ignore them as they have generally done in the past. But if they choose the latter, the situation with Iran will no doubt continue to grow worse. One senior advisor to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei declared on Monday that the regime had already developed the capability to easily produce weapons-grade uranium at the fortified and newly upgraded  nuclear site at Fordo . Of course, these threats were already well-established in the preceding weeks and months, and yet this does not seem to have st...

Iran: The Brussels Court of Appeal Puts on Hold Bid to Release Assadollah Assadi

Image
Written by   Mohammad Sadat Khansari On Friday, the Brussels Court of Appeal banned the Belgian government from transferring the Iranian regime’s diplomat terrorist Assadollah Assadi to Iran. In 2018, Assadi masterminded a terrorist plot to set off explosives at that year’s NCRI rally, which saw tens of thousands of expatriates and renowned politicians converging on an event space near Paris. The plot was ultimately thwarted by European law enforcement, but it had the potential to be the worst terrorist attack on the continent to date, and last year a Belgian court sentenced Assadi, a diplomat-terrorist, to 20 years in prison. In March, the Iranian regime and Belgium signed a treaty to set the stage for Assadi’s release, which was revealed to the public only at the end of June, when it was presented to the Belgian parliament for ratification. The treaty was adopted on July 20, with 79 votes in favor, 41 against, and 11 abstentions. The voting process lasted until midnight We...

Iran’s hard-liners increasingly tilting toward Russia

Image
By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh The Iranian regime’s military cooperation with Russia is one of the core pillars of Tehran’s foreign policy and this partnership intensifies whenever the regime faces greater isolation and pressure in the region. The US last week stated that the Iranian government is planning to supply Russia with hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles, known as UAVs, including advanced models capable of firing missiles. In order to examine Iran’s weapons-capable drones, a Russian delegation reportedly visited an airfield in central Iran on several occasions in the last month, according to National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. As Sullivan told CNN: “We have information that the Iranian government is preparing to provide Russia with several hundred UAVs, including weapons-capable UAVs. We assess an official Russian delegation recently received a showcase of Iranian attack-capable UAVs. We are releasing these images captured in June showing Iranian UAVs that the Russian gove...

Iranian Opposition Gathering To Call for an End to Tehran’s Impunity

Image
Written by   Shahriar Kia On Saturday and Sunday, the National Council of Resistance of Iran will be holding its annual  Free Iran World Summit  calling for increased assertiveness in the international community’s policies toward the Iranian regime.   Since the end of 2017, the Iranian regime has undergone several anti-regime uprisings. The first of these prompted a speech from the regime’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, which acknowledged that the NCRI’s main constituent group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, had steered that uprising toward a message of regime change. Since then, similar calls for a wholesale change of regime have grown out of every major protest, including those which initially focus on specific issues such as recent cuts to food subsidies and a  building collapse  in the city of Abadan which was a consequence of the regime’s corruption.  The persistence of that unrest entails the defiance of worsening repres...

Brussels Ignored the Disastrous Consequences of Iran-Belgium Treaty

Image
Written by  Mahmoud Hakamian After many flip-flops, the Belgian parliament approved a disgraceful treaty with Iran’s ruling theocracy to swap prisoners. Cloaked under benign human rights values, this treaty paves the way for the release of the regime’s diplomat-terrorist  Assadollah Assadi , who masterminded a foiled plot to bomb the Iranian Resistance “Free Iran World Summit” in 2018 in Paris.    The treaty, initially and secretly signed in March 2022 with the Iranian regime, was adopted on July 20, with 79 votes in favor, 41 against, and 11 abstentions. The voting process lasted until midnight Wednesday, with Belgian opposition MPs strongly opposing this treaty. Many called the votes in favor of this disgraceful deal with Tehran “votes of shame” and part of Europe’s failed appeasement policy.    Since the Belgian government’s intention to approve this deal at any cost became evident, the Iranian Resistance started an international mobilization. As ...
