Countering Iran’s Threat, Strategies for Regional Stability

Written by Mahmoud Hakamian Two-minute read On Sunday morning, April 14, the Iranian regime launched an unprecedented attack against Israel, escalating tensions in the Middle East. Despite military experts’ assessments that the attack failed, it underscores  Iran’s role as a focal point  of regional conflict. The October 7th attack sent shockwaves globally. Despite ample evidence implicating the Iranian regime, Western governments dismissed Tehran’s involvement, adhering to a flawed appeasement policy toward the primary state sponsor of terrorism. They disregarded explicit statements from Revolutionary Guards  (IRGC) commanders boasting  about their direct role in the attack. For decades, the Iranian Resistance has urged the international community to adopt a resolute stance against the Iranian regime’s aggression and terrorism. Despite persistent calls, the failed appeasement policy of the West allowed Tehran to escalate its belligerent activities, including financing, arming, train

UN AMBASSADOR’S RETWEET TOUCHES “SOFT SPOT” FOR IRAN’S REGIME

By INU Staff
INU - On its official English Twitter account, The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) posted an excerpt from US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley’s speech, that highlighted the Iranian regime’s human rights violations and referring to the Iranian people’s uprising. Her speech also called for firm action by the international community against the regime.

This tweet followed three days later:
US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley emphasizes how #Iran's "horrendous" regime faced massive protests in the Dec/Jan period. And yet the UN Human Rights Council remained silent.#IranProtests
Iranian media outlets responded in a fashion that may have been coordinated by the Ministry of Intelligence. Insulting remarks were made against Ambassador Haley and senior US officials. It appears that this retweet touched a soft spot for the regime.
They referred to the recent Iranian opposition convention in Paris in which international officials from the U.S. and other countries participated. During that convention, an Iran-sponsored plot to target the PMOI/MEK rally was foiled, resulting in the arrests of their Vienna-based diplomat and operatives in France and Belgium.
The text was prepared by the regime’s Intelligence Ministry. It has been fully or partially posted in several media outlets and contains the following in different wording:
- Ambassador Haley’s retweet shows close relations between the US foreign policy team and the PMOI/MEK
- This “group-let” was considered a terrorist until 2012 and the US supports this entity despite claiming to fight terrorism.
- This “group-let” pays large sums of money to bring politicians to their sessions.
- Previous US administrations refused to establish overt relations with this organization. The Trump administration, however, has violated this law and is vividly supporting this “terrorist group-let.”
It has been proven that the Clinton administration’s blacklisting of the PMOI/MEK during Mohammad Khatami’s tenure in Iran was part of an appeasement policy.
Lies were spread by the regime from 1997 to 2012, about the PMOI/MEK in an attempt to justify allegations with the terrorist designation.
The reality is, the Iranian regime itself is the source of terrorism and threats in the US and Europe.
The PMOI/MEK gained the trust and support of hundreds of international figures. The Iranian regime claimed that these individuals were paid large sums of money. However, the Iranian regime’s tactics are now familiar to all.
A retweet by Ambassador Haley seems to have churned up mayhem among the regime’s leadership. This seems to point to the legitimacy of the alternative to the regime, the PMOI/MEK.
