Countering Iran’s Threat, Strategies for Regional Stability

Written by Mahmoud Hakamian Two-minute read On Sunday morning, April 14, the Iranian regime launched an unprecedented attack against Israel, escalating tensions in the Middle East. Despite military experts’ assessments that the attack failed, it underscores  Iran’s role as a focal point  of regional conflict. The October 7th attack sent shockwaves globally. Despite ample evidence implicating the Iranian regime, Western governments dismissed Tehran’s involvement, adhering to a flawed appeasement policy toward the primary state sponsor of terrorism. They disregarded explicit statements from Revolutionary Guards  (IRGC) commanders boasting  about their direct role in the attack. For decades, the Iranian Resistance has urged the international community to adopt a resolute stance against the Iranian regime’s aggression and terrorism. Despite persistent calls, the failed appeasement policy of the West allowed Tehran to escalate its belligerent activities, including financing, arming, train

The Italian Senate unanimously approved a resolution related to supporting the Iranian uprising

The Italian Senate unanimously approved a resolution related to the Iranian uprising and the clerical regime’s violation of human rights and women’s rights.

The resolution states that men and women in Iran have resolutely fought for freedom, democracy, and respect for human rights for decades, and despite the repression, torture, and execution of thousands of political prisoners, the regime has not been able to stop the resistance of citizens who demand freedom, democracy, and respect for human rights and have taken risks with their lives.

Security forces, IRGC, Basij, police forces, and riot police used bullets, tear gas, and batons to suppress the protests.

In solidarity with Iranian women and the many young men who are courageously protesting, the resolution reaffirms its full support for the Iranian people’s aspirations for democracy, human rights, and fundamental freedoms.

The decision obliges the Italian government to put pressure on the Iranian regime directly and in multilateral forums to end repression and violence against women, demonstrators, and ethnic and religious minorities, disrupt the internet, prevent further executions, and release arrested protesters.

The resolution calls on the government to actively monitor the export of arms and ammunition to countries neighboring Iran, in order to avoid the risk of Italian companies being involved, albeit indirectly, in supporting the repressive action.

Senator Giulio Terzi, Chairman of the European Union Policy Committee, said in his speech while approving this resolution that Khomeinism is the Shiite model of ISIS, with the difference that it is a government that creates the illusion that it is reformable.

Senator Terzi: Rouhani, this great “reformer,” did most of the killing and executions, but we made a deal with him, sent delegations, and encouraged Europe to do the same. Not only do the IRGC commit crimes in Iran, but they also kill Ukrainians. Let’s not pretend we don’t know this, we know it well. In this room there were colleagues with me four years ago at the National Council of Resistance conference in Wellpent, we were subjected to a horrific act of terrorism. A regime diplomat was arrested at the regime’s embassy in Vienna, Assadullah Asadi. He intended to commit a crime similar to the destruction of the Twin Towers of America.

Today, they want to return Assadullah Asadi, who is sentenced to 20 years in prison, to Iran and exchange him with innocent people. He was at the head of a terrorist network of regime elements, and in this regard, he made 180 trips to European countries in two years.

Do we want these terrorists to roam freely in Europe and Italy and continue killing politicians and opponents? It is enough to fall into the trap that the regime is fixable and negotiable.

Yes, but speaking with freedom-loving forces, with excellent and very brave youth and intellectuals, with an organization led by Mrs. Rajavi, the organization that has the largest number of supporters inside Iran

If we go and visit their places in Albania, they have a museum in memory of their martyrs, where 30 thousand martyrs of the People’s Mujahideen were hanged in prisons in 1988, most of them were the People’s Mujahideen who were executed by the death committee established by Khomeini’s fatwa.

Do you know who was on this death commission? I think many people know that the current president of the regime is Ibrahim Raisi. We should not be delusional about this regime, the international community must take strong action.

Senator Terzi, on behalf of himself and his party, once again demanded that the IRGC be classified as a terrorist entity
